The sun dipped low behind the horizon, casting long shadows across the desolate highway known as Zombie Road. Its name whispered through the townsfolk's lips, a testament to the strange occurrences that plagued its winding path. Legends spoke of restless souls and eerie sightings, but few dared to venture onto its asphalt after nightfall.

Among those brave—or perhaps foolhardy—enough to traverse this cursed road were four friends: Betty, Larry, Emily, and Mark. They piled into a beaten-up old van, its headlights cutting through the encroaching darkness as they sped toward the ominous stretch of asphalt.

Laughter filled the van as they swapped stories and shared nervous glances. Betty, the adventurous soul of the group, had convinced them that spending the night at the road’s notorious spot would be a thrill. "Come on, guys, where's your sense of adventure?" she chided, egging them on.

As the van neared Zombie Road, the atmosphere shifted. The air grew heavy, and an eerie silence enveloped the vehicle. Even the wind seemed to whisper warnings against their chosen path.

They parked at the road's entrance, staring at the daunting stretch before them. The moon hung low, casting an eerie glow on the cracked pavement. "This is insane," Mark muttered, a tremor in his voice.
