This valuable work covers the distinguishing marks of what it means to be a godly Christian. Burgess uses the term "godly man" throughout his work referring to the Christian in opposition to the unconverted man. Mark 4 - The godly man in the Covenant of Grace. And finally, Mark 5 - The Assurance of Saving Grace. Then he completes the work with an explanation on how Christians may have assurance of salvation, full assurance, and examines the character of the godly man in 12 concluding points.
