Thomas W. Hanshew (1857–1914) was an American author, born in Brooklyn, New York. Although not as widely known as some of his contemporaries, Hanshew made a significant contribution to detective fiction at the turn of the 20th century. His creation of the character Hamilton Cleek, often known simply as 'Cleek,' gave rise to a popular series of detective stories.
