This book was recommended to me as both an entertaining novel and as an argument in favor of a strong Second Amendment to the US Constitution. It is both.
I found the character development very compelling and realistic. The author’s grasp and portrayal of the unbreakable bond which men, and women, forge for a lifetime in times of stress and danger presented clearly and unequivocally. It is also interesting to be reminded that people can join in a common cause for meritorious purposes and over time be seduced by power and lose sight of why they joined together in the first place. This was a “problem” for only the antagonists.
