Tracy Letts è drammaturgo e attore. Dal suo dramma Killer Joe è stato tratto l’omonimo film diretto da William Friedkin con Matthew McConaughey. Nel 2008 ha ricevuto il premio Pulitzer con Agosto, ritratto di famiglia, che è diventato un film prodotto da George Clooney, con Julia Roberts e Meryl Streep.
