Highlighting the barriers encountered in striving for inclusion in higher education in South Africa, chapter authors explore the significance of curriculum for inclusion and unpack the strategies of support and assessment in higher education. The critical aspects of inclusion and exclusion in higher education such as gender, language, technology and leadership are discussed and their impact on access, equity and inclusion is unmasked. Tsediso Michael Makoelle is the Vice Dean for Research at Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan. He has more than 25 years of experience in various teaching and leadership capacities at universities and schools in South Africa and abroad.
Cina P. Mosito is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Nelson Mandela University, South Africa. Cina has written extensively on the topic of inclusive education and has supervised both master's and doctoral students in the field.
