About this ebook

18-year-old Travis George Scott plans to celebrate his 18th birthday with friends while saving 18-year-old Valerie Sanchez from drowning at Fort Lauderdale's surf break. Valerie falls in love with Travis before he leaves for basic training in the Marine Corps.

The relationship seems to be going well, but they are both facing obstacles: Travis's mother Susan and uncle Bobby's ableism and discrimination.

Throughout the summer and leaving for basic, Travis and Valerie were faced with many challenges and obstacles that tried to define their relationship, while Susan learned a very valuable lesson about disability acceptance and equality.
