Die Erzählung spielt während der Steinzeit und erzählt von einem Höhlenmenschen namens Ugh-Lomi, der sich mit der jungen Frau Eudena verbindet und seinen Rivalen, den De-facto-Stammesführer Uya, tötet. Im Exil wird Ugh-Lomi der erste Mann, der ein Pferd reitet und Stein und Holz zu einer Axt kombiniert.
