Costruita come una storia dentro una storia, "Una discesa" è una bellissima storia sul mare, raccontata alla maniera di "La ballata del vecchio marinaio" di Coleridge. Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) è stato un poeta, autore e critico letterario americano.
