About the author

V. K. Jain was a professor at Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur). Dr. Jain earned his B.E. (Mechanical) from Vikram University Ujjain in 1970, M.E. (Production) from the University of Roorkee in the year 1973, and Ph.D. from the University of Roorkee in Mechanical Engineering in the year 1980. He has more than 45 years of teaching and research experience. He has served two foreign universities as a visiting professor. He has won three gold medals, two silver medals, and one best paper award as recognition of his research work. He has written / edited more than six books and thirteen chapters for different books published by international publishers. He was appointed as an editor-in-chief for one journal and a full editor of two international journals with an associate editor of three international journals. Dr. Jain has organized more than eighteen summer/winter/short-term schools on various topics. He has seven Indian patents and one USA patent to his credit.

Biswanath Doloi is a professor in the Production Engineering Department, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, WB. He earned his Ph.D. in 2001. He has organized many training courses. He worked on many funded research projects of government agencies. He has supervised fifteen Ph.D. theses. He won one national patent on micro-tool fabrication. He was a university gold medalist and recipient of the Young Scientist Award. He has authored one book and contributed two chapters in other books. He also co-edited many proceedings of various conferences. He has published more than 50 papers in refereed journals. His research interest is mainly related to non-traditional manufacturing.

U. S. Rao is an associate professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, UP. He earned his B.E. degree from REC Rourkela and M.Tech. and Ph.D. degree from IIT (Madras). He has a total of 22 research publications in reputed and peer-reviewed journals. He has been granted two government-funded projects from BRNS and BARC. He has guided twenty-two PG research scholars and two PhD scholars. He has five ongoing Ph.D. research scholars. His research interest includes modeling and simulation, micro-machining, advanced machining.

J. P. Misra is an assistant professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT(BHU) Varanasi, UP. He did his B.Tech. from Kalyani Govt. Engineering College, M.Tech. from IIT Roorkee, and Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee. His research interests include machining science, advanced machining processes, joining techniques, machine learning, etc. He published over 50 SCI and Scopus journals and many more at national conferences. He is a recipient of many awards. He has filed one patent. He is a life member of many societies like The Institution of Engineers (India), Association for Engineers, DAAM Vienna, etc.
