About the author
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Valentin Plenk studierte Elektrotechnik an der TU München. Er promovierte zum Dr.-Ing. an der Fakultät Maschinenwesen der TU München. Nach Abschluss der Promotion entwickelte er in verantwortlicher Position Hard- und Software für die Steuerung von Sondermaschinen im Halbleiterbereich.Seit 2000 ist Valentin Plenk Professor an der Hochschule Hof, vertritt das Lehrgebiet Steuerungstechnik und leitet seit 2016 die Forschungsgruppe Cyber-Physical Systems am Institut für Informationssysteme. Zum 1.10.2017 hat er die Leitung des Instituts für Informationssysteme übernommen.
