I've read a more recent edition than this (2010). Hilton has a particular way of exploring love and humility in contemplation. His understanding of the Holy Spirit, his dialectic between creaturely and uncreated love, and his continuous thread of humilty as sustaining virtue made this read enjoyable, particularly book three.
