Bulutangkis atau badminton adalah olahraga memukul kok (bola kecil yang terbuat dari bulu angsa) dengan raket yang dimainkan oleh dua orang (pertandingan tunggal) atau dua pasangan (pertandingan ganda). Olahraga ini berasal dari India yang dinamakan "Poona". Kemudian dibawa ke Inggris oleh tentara Britania. Pada tahun 1873 permainan ini dimainkan di taman istana milik Duke de Beufort di Badminton Gloucenter Shire. Hingga olahraga ini dikenal juga dengan nama badminton. Sampai sekarang olahraga ini sudah dikenal di seluruh dunia. Indonesia memiliki atlet-atlet berbakat di cabang olahraga bulutangkis.
