Thomas Nabors
If you could only read one of the three parts, I would recommend reading My Religion. It is the best part of the book where Tolstoy defends the Sermon on the Mount as not just unattainable goals, but what Christ expected from his followers. Tolstoy's description of the five "laws" of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount is convincing. He is convinced that Jesus meant it when He said "Resist not evil". And he makes a convincing argument for it. My Confession give good background for My Religion. The Gospel in Brief is Tolstoy's summarization of the four Gospel books. For people familiar with the four books, his treatment doesn't add much. His final summary is good and in it he reiterates the five "laws" of Jesus.
