This volume is the result of the conference of the »Working Group for Historical Religious Education« in February 2022, which focused on catastrophes, wars and crises and their perceptions through religious education thought and action over the last 250 years. The contributions from Protestant, Catholic and Islamic Religious Education as well as from history and educational science ask how catastrophes influenced conceptual, content-related and systematic designs of Religious Education in schools, religions and society and how they were received, answered for and processed in Religious Education.
