4.25 stars. This long story is dual POV, well written, and a darker, sci fi, alien/human romance. I enjoyed Alina’s gentleness and her empathy for all around her. I enjoyed the way this “weakness” from others’ perspectives ended up being her great strength, allowing her advocate for better outcomes. I enjoyed the distinctness of Threxin’s foreign nature, perceived as monstrous by humans, on meeting. I enjoyed the way that this was tempered by his interactions. I enjoyed the non-romance plot.

Really enjoyed this one! Command was book 2, but can be read as a stand-alone. It was a dark, enemies to lovers trope and I liked the way the author wrote it. I’m sorta picky about how it’s supposed to work and she does an excellent job making me believe it. It was fast paced and interesting. And it was wild how they were able to be together. Alexandra Norton has a real talent for this genre and she’s an automatic read for me. I received an ARC for free, and I am writing this voluntarily.

4.5 Stars I highly recommend reading the 1st book for clarity, and then this one for enjoyment. I loved Threxin and his transformation. First he was so cold and calculating, dismissing humans as "pests". He begins to see something in Alina. She shows that she is more than he thought of humans and what she appears to be. Alina is subservient; always eager to please others and put their needs first. She is the assistant to the cold Kaia, from the 1st book. Just mssing Alina's background. 🔥🔥🔥
