I started watching the TV show Bosch before I began reading any of the books. It's fun to go back and see where the character started and note some of the very substantial changes made in adapting for the screen. This is a taut, well-paced thriller but I'd suggest that Connelly has actually gotten better with subsequent books. An interesting time capsule.

Excellent book, well written and well read. Unfortunately i had an awful lot of pages missing from my e-book, some being at very crucial moments

Really enjoyed this first book in the series. Connelly writes very well and the plot is good. Bosch is a good honest detective in a seedy world. On to the next one for me.
