Raised in the blues-rich South Side of Chicago, guitarist James Vincent studied the methods of B.B. King and Johnny Smith, as well as the great Chet Atkins. In the mid-sixties, Vincent played in the legendary ?Exceptions,? considered by many to be Chicago?s first super group. Vincent recorded with several notable Chicago artists, including Minnie Ripperton. In 1969 Vincent joined ?H.P. Lovecraft,? managed by rock impresario Bill Graham. He later toured with Jerry Garcia in promotion of Jerry?s ?Hooteroll? album. Vincent recorded three solo albums with Columbia/Caribou Records, including ?Space Traveler,? featuring members of ?Earth, Wind & Fire,? followed by two contemporary Christian albums, ?Enter In? and ?Waiting for the Rain.? Some of his past musical associations include Santana, Rufus, Azteca, Sheila E., Neal Schon, Etta James, Tom Scott, and Robert Lamm of the band ?Chicago.? Vincent lives in southwestern Idaho?s Treasure Valley.
