I have said it before and I will say it again, I LOVE this series. Although I loved all the books, this one was definitely my favorite. (Death+Divorce) + four sons + two sets of supportive parents = Dynamic love story. Ok, that is an incredible oversimplified of this story, but those words are the best way to describe all the elements that made this book my favorite. Cameron and Kade are friends and colleagues. Cameron is dealing with the loss of a man he has loved for over ten years to cancer. Kade is dealing with a marriage that is falling apart. Both of them are dealing with the unexpected role of single parents to two boys each. What better way to deal with oceans of grief but to combine households and support each other through the process. Some where between the hurt, anger, and loss Kade and Cameron discover their ability to live again and what’s more they find love and comfort in each other. But unlike Cameron’s deceased husband, whose voice appears in Cameron’s internal monologues, Kade’s ex-wife is a very real factor in this relationship. What’s more, she is a very unpredictable factor who could pop up and ruin the new normal these two men have just because she can. Best things about this book: 1. Dual POV 2. Second chance at love trope 3. Friends to lovers trope 4. Steamy sex scenes 5. HEA 6. Low angst mystery Supportive community I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oh my word A.D. Ellis really knows how to bring her characters to life! You as reader feels all the emotions with the characters be it happiness or emotional upheaval as in the case with best friends turned lovers Cameron and Kade. A terrible loss for Cameron leads to a tighter bond with his best friend Kade who caught his wife cheating with a much older man which left him broken… “The bravest thing you will ever do is love again.”~Madelyn Beck Kade has always been attracted to both sexes but when he entered college he shoved it away and met his now ex wife Stephanie. Cameron lost the love of his life to cancer and thought he would never find such a deep abiding love again…… “If life can remove someone you never dreamt of losing, It can replace them with someone you never dreamt of having.”~Rachel Wolchin Their journey to acceptance and love is depicted so beautifully in this story how they raised their two sons both from their first marriage together and melded into a beautiful family. The beauty of such a story is it can be anybody you know that is how you as reader knows that this is definitely a must read! Cam's husband dies from cancer and Kade's wife leaves him and their boys and wants a divorce. They move in together to help each other out and things start to change in their lives. I really enjoyed this book.

About the author

A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana teaching alternative education in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing school-aged children, and laughing at a precocious cat. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking. She loves chocolate, wine, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don't leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband of nearly two decades. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.
