",Florentinische Nächte", ",Der Rabbi von Bacherach", "Elementargeister", "Shakspeares Mädchen und Frauen", "Heinrich Heine über Ludwig Börne") liefert der Kommentarband Entstehungsgeschichten, Überlieferungsangaben und Erläuterungen. Die Abschnitte "Entstehung" und "Mitteilungen zum Text" dokumentieren die Entstehungs- und Druckgeschichten der Texte und die Abweichungen aller handschriftlichen und gedruckten Textzeugen von der gewählten Textgrundlage. Die "Erläuterungen" informieren über historische, literarische, biographische und sprachliche Sachverhalte, soweit sie zum Verständnis der Texte notwendig sind.
