About this ebook

The Generalized Intelligent Framework for Tutoring (GIFT) Users Symposia began in 2013 with the goal to capture successful implementations of GIFT from the user community and to share recommendations leading to more useful capabilities for GIFT authors, researchers, and learners. The attached proceedings resulted from papers accepted for the 4th Annual GIFT Users Symposium.

About the Editors:

Dr. Robert Sottilare leads adaptive training research within US Army Research Laboratory’s Learning in Intelligent Tutoring Environments (LITE) Lab in Orlando Florida.  He is a co-creator of the Generalized Intelligent Framework for Tutoring (GIFT).

Dr. Scott Ososky is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist within the US Army Research Laboratory's Human Research and Engineering Directorate (ARL-HRED). His current research examines mental models of adaptive tutor authoring, including user experience issues related to development tools and interfaces for tutor authoring.
