About this ebook

Can she tame her bear shifters or will she be their dinner?

Alone, frozen, and far from home, Isla finds herself in the care of four frustratingly sexy bear shifters. They soon end up on a Scottish island, trying to survive the disasters of a failing world.

With new relationships unfolding, Isla has to make the decision between her humanity and the bears protecting her.

Will winter drive them apart or can Isla claim her bears?

Rescued by Bears is a spicy reverse harem romance featuring one sassy heroine and four hunky bear shifters (including a polar bear!). Prepare for strong alpha males with a trace of vulnerability, an epic quest, Viking beards, very steamy scenes, Scottish landscapes, Celtic mythology and a post-apocalyptic setting.

Previously published as Polar Destiny.

+ great plot, post apocalytic + shifters. + i love their distinctive traits of character. (however, the spicy scenes are not detailled enough to my taste :p - i prefer when reverse harem actions are hotter, longer, not just well started then roughly summed up)

WoW !!! A climate science book. One dealing with part of a worst case scenario; not quite Waterworld but definitely post apocalyptic. The intro chapter alone outlining the effects on banks and universities and medicine is worth the price of the book. Whatever the genre, whatever the plot, this book is worth reading and promoting just for that alone.

Isla grows up on an island that has a shortage of women, suddenly her uncle tells her she will be married in two days to a man who is rough and stinks. The day of her wedding, while her uncle starts his speach before the wedding ceremony, Isla gets up and walks away across the ice covering the ocean. Isla lays down in the snow to sleep and wakes up in a log cabin which is shared by four gorgeous bear shifters. They become very protective of her and in time she develops feelings for each of them. Finn is the youngest, Ran and Hunn are brothers and their alpha is Torben. A snow storm comes along and destroys their cabin and the bears decide it is time to move to another island before the ice melts and they can’t cross the ocean. They make it to another island where two other bears have made their home. Torben and Isla mare and their bonding doesn’t come to completion and Isla wakes to find she has partially shifted. Because they didn’t complete the bond, Isla is angry with the change and feels deceived and is hurt and runs away from the men and hides in a cabin in the middle of the island. As a result, Torben and Isla are now dying. Isla’s bear Ali’s, comes to life inside her and talks to her and tells her what she has to do. Ali’s has been sent to be with Isla after she is born and knows she has a very important job to do, she has to save the world for bears. This is the first story in the series. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books. I loved this book and was captivating by the characters and the story from the very first page and I need to read the rest of the story. I have to say that this is the first book I have read by Skye MacKinnon and I am a fan already. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Skye MacKinnon is a USA Today Bestselling author with a slight obsession with bunnies, dried mango and Scotland. And when she says slight... her friends are trying to find ways to trick her into not having a book set in Scotland.

You'll often find Skye bribing herself into writing words using cake and tea, but whatever works, right?

Whether they're set in space (Scottish space, obviously), fantasy worlds (Scottish fantasy worlds, obviously), or Scotland, Skye's tales are full of magic, romance and adventure. Oh and unicorns.
