Jede Woche stehen Predigerinnen und Prediger vor der Aufgabe, die biblischen Texte in ihrer Vielfalt zu erschließen. Als ein innerbiblischer Schlüssel zum Verständnis dieser Texte haben die sogenannten Duale Gesetz und Evangelium, Glaube und Werke, Alter und Neuer Bund, Verheißung und Erfüllung in der evangelisch-lutherischen Kirche eine lange Tradition als Hilfe für den Zugang zum Verstehen der Bibel. Sie können jedoch missverstanden und insbesondere gegen jüdische Theologie gewendet werden. Die Handreichung geht mit dieser Gefahr bewusst und offen um, indem sie beschreibt, wie die jeweiligen Duale zu verstehen sind – und damit auch, wie sie nicht zu verstehen sind und nicht verstanden werden dürfen. Sie beschreibt die unterschiedlichen theologischen Hintergründe der Duale und erhellt ihre jeweilige existenzerschließende Kraft für die Gegenwart und Zukunft. Die Duale werden so in ihrer Bedeutung für eine lebendige Predigtkultur erschlossen, die theologisches und existenzielles Verstehen der Bibel und ihre gegenwartsorientierte Auslegung miteinander verbindet. A Handout for Preachers] Every week preachers face the challenge of exploring the biblical texts in their diversity. As an inner-biblical key to the understanding of these texts, the so-called duals of law and gospel, faith and good works, old and new covenant, promise and fulfillment have a long tradition in the Evangelical Lutheran Church as an approach for the understanding of the Bible. However, they can be misunderstood and particularly turned against Jewish theology. The handout deals with this danger consciously and openly by describing how the respective duals are to be understood – and thus also how they are not to be understood and must not be understood. It describes the different theological backgrounds of the duals and illuminates their respective existential power for the present and future. The duals are thus made accessible in their significance for a living preaching culture that combines theological and existential understanding of the Bible with its present-oriented interpretation.
