About this ebook

| The exterior brick structure differs from the interior where a unique spiral staircase dug out of the wall rises along a helicoidal trajectory and circling around the ideal axis of the tower, creates an 'eye' that acts like the shaft of a column, which in this case is replaced by empty space: a magnificent negative cochlear-like sculpture. It is an extremely important Renaissance architecture, a design in which its incredibly complex geometry is accompanied by a brilliant technological and building expertise. This association points to Michelangelo as the designer due to the similarities between the principles governing this architecture and the ones which inspired his sculptures.
