About the author
Brian Jacques (ausgesprochen "Jakes") wurde 1939 in Liverpool geboren und wuchs in Kirkdale, in der Nähe der Docks, auf. Er verließ die Schule im Alter von fünfzehn Jahren und arbeitete als Feuerwehrmann, Busfahrer, Postmeister und Stand-up-Entertainer, bevor er seine schriftstellerische Karriere mit einem Engagement am renommierten Everyman Theatre begann. Sein erstes Buch für Kinder, REDWALL, wurde 1986 veröffentlicht. Einundzwanzig weitere Bücher der Reihe wurden mit Millionen verkauften Exemplaren auf der ganzen Welt veröffentlicht und fanden großen Anklang. Im Jahr 2021 kündigte Netflix die Veröffentlichung einer Zeichentrickadaption von REDWALL an, die die Reihe einer neuen Generation von Fans näherbringen soll. Brian starb am 5. Februar 2011 in Liverpool.
