Sie drehte ihren Kopf und schaute zum Fenster hin. Viel sah sie nicht. Es war die Zeit, in der sich der Tag verabschiedet hatte, die Nacht aber noch nicht die Dunkelheit über die Welt gelegt hatte. So war die Einfahrt, die den Hinterhof von der Straße trennte, kaum zu sehen. Die einzige Lampe in der Nähe war nicht mehr als Dekoration, denn ihr Licht erreichte kaum den unebenen Boden.
