About the author

Nalini Ramachandran is the author of several children's books and graphic novels. She uses innovative storytelling to simplify challenging concepts and highlight lesser-explored themes that centre around folklore and culture, science and nature, history and the modern times. Some of her works are Trumpet Calls: Epic Tales of Extraordinary Elephants; Gods, Giants and the Geography of India; Nava Durga: The Nine Forms of the Goddess; Lore of the Land: Storytelling Traditions of India; and APJ Abdul Kalam: One Man, Many Missions.

Shruti Hemani is an architect with distinction-gold medal and a doctoral degree from IIT, Guwahati. Alongside her professional career in urban design, she continues to follow her interest in illustrating. She takes her work as a journey of discoveries and surprises, and enjoys experimenting with different mediums and styles. Since the year 2020, she has been contributing regularly to children's picture books and magazines. Shruti was shortlisted for the second Mehlli Gobhai Children's Book Illustrator Award in 2023.
