Considering that this author has touted this book as an educational tool to improve reading comprehension, I am extremely disappointed. While the story has potential, the book is filled with countless errors of punctuation, sentence structure, and grammar. The dialog is often stilted due in part to the lack of common contractions used in everyday conversational English, such as "we're," "can't," "don't," etc. Some unimportant details are excessively wordy, interrupting the flow of the story. The first run-on sentence is found near the beginning of the first chapter, and it just gets worse. All of these errors create confusion in the reader, not comprehension. If the author and publisher wish to emphasize the educational value of a book, they have the responsibility to provide a book that has educational value. Until these errors are rectified, this book's educational value lies only in teaching how to proofread. One star for its educational value. The story, however, is okay.
