Heartwood Christmas: a Crown of Fae Short Story

                  Anna is in the mood for lighthearted holiday fun, preferably under the mistletoe with her handsome boss. But nothing is simple when she’s a werewolf, he’s a fae, and the ugly statue they’ve driven miles to purchase gives her serious creeps. Plus, they’re lost in a blizzard and the only shelter for miles is the remote and lonely Heartwood Inn.

John Barleycorn, collector of rare and magical artifacts, has far more on his mind than lights and tinsel. An ancient shadow he’d thought long buried is stirring up the unexpected storm. He’s fought this creature before, back in his wilder days, and it wasn’t pretty. Now it’s up to him to rescue both Yule and the run-down inn from the monster—and some very bad beer.

Most of all, John yearns to protect Anna, whether the perfectly capable wolf shifter needs it or not. Magic spells are easier than the words he won’t let himself say. Little does he know Anna has plans of her own for a not-so-silent night.
