About this ebook

I can’t have Elijah Iverson.

I can’t have him because he’s my older brother’s best friend. I can’t have him because I broke his heart five years ago; because he’s now engaged to someone else—someone kind and dependable who deserves his whiskey eyes, his soft mouth, his fierce intellect.

I can’t have Elijah because I’ve chosen God instead.

The Bell brothers, though . . . well, we don't exactly have the greatest track record with vows. But I’m determined to do this monk thing right—to pledge myself to a cloistered life and spend the rest of my years in chastity and prayer. But now Elijah’s here. He’s here and he’s coming with me on my European monastery road trip, and between the whispered confessions and the stolen kisses and the moments bent over an ancient altar, my vows are feeling flimsier by the day.

And vows or not, I know in my heart that it would take more than a good and holy monk to resist Elijah Iverson right now. It would take a saint.

And we all know that I’m no saint.

(This is the third full-length standalone in the Priest Collection, featuring Father Bell's brother, Aiden Bell. You do not have to read Priest or Sinner to read Saint.)

This is emotional, raw, sweet, passionate, and so so good. I fell for Aiden and Elijah. Their story is not easy and we get to see their past and present and how it can lead them to their future. It's forbidden, sexy, dark and oh so good.

Holy moly! Quite literally. Aiden Bell, or should I say Brother Patrick. He’s got such a dirty mind. All those dirty thoughts featuring his ex boyfriend, Elijah Iverson. A man he left five years previously. Why you may say? I have no clue, but I was dying to find out. A story that had me wanting to became more in tune with my spiritual side and had me wanting to re-evaluate my life and how I live it. It’s funny how books like this make me want to be a better person. Throughout Aiden’s journey, figuratively and literally, we learn the reasons that he suddenly left his life to become a monk. Very much a modern day m/ m version of The Sound of Music. I loved it. I loved the places they visited, I loved his fellow monks (they were so funny and sweet), and I loved the little insights into his brothers’ lives. I will say that there are some profound moments, and it was quite emotional. Wonderful story, writing and characters. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

Sometimes books surprise you. I must admit that this book did exactly that to me and in the very best way possible. Maybe you'll look at this book and think it will be steamy and emotional. And yeah, you'd be right. Or maybe you'll look at this book and think that maybe this would be a book that will push at your boundaries a bit or make you feel uncomfortable. And yeah, that is certainly a possibility. But what you might not expect from just looking at this book is that it is introspective and deep. While this book opens itself up to deliver all the angst, heat, feels and swoon that you are yearning for, it also lets you take a close-up look at its heart and soul and what you will find there is beautiful and poignant, painful and sweet and as simple as it is complex. Aiden and Elijah's second chance story is slow burning. Honestly, sometimes it feels almost excruciatingly so, but I also felt that this made sense with the story being told. It is a journey and a struggle with no easy answers or instantaneous solutions and I am so incredibly grateful that I was privileged enough to go on it with them. This is my independent, impartial review.
