About this ebook

The explosive definitive account of the Michael Jackson saga, chronicling the King of Pop's battles against child molestation charges from 1993 to 2005, from award-winning journalist

Diane Dimond, who broke the story first, over twelve years ago

Michael Jackson has long captured the world's attention, first as the dynamic lead singer of the Jackson Five, then during his highly successful breakout solo career. But somewhere along the line Jackson transformed himself into something hardly recognizable and was investigated -- not once, but twice -- for crimes we could hardly imagine.

Even now, after his unexpected acquittal on multiple charges of child molestation, there is a sense that the real truth behind the allegations is not known. The character of Michael Jackson -- from his humble beginnings to his rich career and the birth of Neverland Ranch -- is destined for great debate among fans, journalists, historians, and psychiatrists for years to come. In the meantime, there is Diane Dimond, the journalist of record on the Jackson case.

In November 2003, when the Santa Barbara county sheriff's department conducted another raid on Neverland Ranch, Diane Dimond and her camera crews were the only ones there to capture the moment and report the news to the world. Now, for the first time, Dimond recounts the multifaceted details of the Jackson case, utilizing her extensive notes and sources. What she tells us is a shocking story.

Be Careful Who You Love will take you behind the scenes and into the courtroom of one of the most controversial cases of the decade, while giving readers a dramatic glimpse of one reporter's vigilance and unending quest to uncover the truth.

I have read this book five times -- every sentence, every word. I have also read everything else written about Michael Jackson. I can tell you with 100% certainty that this book is filled with incorrect facts, innuendoes, distortions and total lies. Diane Dimond has made an entire career (and tons of money) out of basically trashing Michael Jackson. I don't know why she hates him so much but she does and her book reflects that. I have done all the research especially about the "allegations". All you really have to do is research the two families who accused Michael -- Chandler in 1993 and Arvizo in 2003. In both families you have a mentally ill parent, greed and moral corruption. And BOTH allegations were made AFTER Michael began distancing himself from the family. Extortion, my friends. If you want to know the REAL truth about Michael Jackson please read Jermaine Jackson's book and Frank Cascio's book. Both are excellent, well-written and they actually KNEW MJ. After you read these books you will absolutely know that Michael Jackson never hurt any child and in fact devoted his life to helping to "Heal the World" -- just like he sang it.

No. This is not the definitive account. This book was so obviously negative towards Michael Jackson, there is way too much villification to have any value to the reader. Because of that, the entire writing is suspect. There are many missing and differing accountings of the facts from the case, especially evident after reading the transcript of the court testimony. For that reason alone you can not believe in this accounting. The subject was not a perfect person, however this lopsided view is another fine example of American media, and to blindly believe this rubbish is forfeiting our children's future into the hands of bullies.

Example: On page 29-30, the writer describes Neverland ranch as (quote) "a twenty-seven-thousand acre ranch." 27,000 acres? 27 THOUSAND? Wrong. Neverland is 2,676 acres. The writer is only off by 24 THOUSAND acres. Does anyone fact check anymore? Apparently not Simon and Schuster. This is just ONE example of how horrid the facts are in this book. The number of inaccuracies are too numerous to mention. Do you want to read a book that screws up on something as simple (and important) as the size of Michael Jackson's previous residence? Don't waste your time on this piece of garbage.
