About the author

Pat Kelley has been a mainstay in the Los Angeles music scene for the past thirty-five years, playing on

hundreds of recording sessions while establishing a reputation as one of the world’s premier jazz guitarists. He

has toured in more than thirty countries with George Benson, Natalie Cole, David Benoit, Tom Scott, Ronnie and

Hubert Laws, and many others, while also recording numerous CDs and performing as a bandleader.

Pat is a core faculty member of the highly acclaimed USC Thornton School of Music Studio/Jazz Guitar

Department. In addition to Melodic Minor Guitar, Pat’s book Arpeggios for the Evolving Guitarist is also part of

the USC Thornton School of Music guitar instructional series.
