About this ebook

One passionate night. One impossible consequence. One notorious rogue who never expected to fall.

Lady Cordelia Daventry gave up on love years ago—until a chance encounter with Nathaniel Lowell, Viscount Wolverton, ignites desires she never knew she possessed. Their stolen moments together are reckless, intoxicating, and completely unsuitable for a proper spinster.

When the inevitable consequence of their passion becomes impossible to hide, Cordelia seeks help from Lady Celia Kendal. But secrets have a way of unraveling, and soon Nathaniel discovers the truth that changes everything.

Known throughout London for his roguish charm and commitment to bachelorhood, Nathaniel shocks even himself by pursuing the one path he swore he'd never take: marriage. But Cordelia refuses to be another obligation, another duty he fulfills out of honor rather than choice.

Two fiercely independent souls. One undeniable connection. As Nathaniel fights to prove his feelings are real and Cordelia struggles to trust a rogue's promise, they'll discover that true love requires more than passion—it demands the courage to be vulnerable, and the strength to claim their future together.

This is a good Regency romance. It is a short and quick read about Lady Cordelia Daventry and Nathaniel, Viscount Wolverton. She is a spinster and him a notorious rogue. One night of shared passion starts a battle of wills. This is an interesting story. Overall, the story had a lot of promise but I was a little disappointed with the characters, especially Cordelia. She is really childish. So I liked the premise but it fell a little flat.

Cordelia offered herself to Nathaniel when he was hurting and then doesn’t want to marry him even when she becomes pregnant. She tries to run thinking her parents will let her take her inheritance even with the scandal and keeps fighting with Nathaniel and pushing him away. There was a huge lack of communication until their friends intervene.

Cordelia Daventry can do nothing to please her parents and is resigned to being a spinster. Nathaniel Lowell has a similar problem with his father. A moment of comfort turned to passion. When Cordelia discovers she is pregnant, she is determined to leave and live on her own. When Nathaniel learns he is to become a father and that Cordelia plans to steal away with his child, he is livid. They marry. The marriage is off to a bad start. Both are angry. Neither trusts the other. Following a horrible argument, both receive advice from trusted friends. Their road to being happy is to discover that they want the same thing, the love they’ve never had. Will they put aside their hurt and anger to create a happy home and future? Their HEA is well worth the try. Good Read. I received an ARC of this book via BookSprout. My review is voluntary.
