Rap music is a billion dollar industry that had humble beginnings in the Bronx NY. Many people think that ‘Rap’ music and ‘Hip Hop’ are one and the same. While rap is a part of Hip Hop, as the legendary Hip Hop artist KRS One once said, “Rap is something you do, Hip Hop is something you live!” 

This book is about MCs, one of the five elements of Hip Hop culture. Children of all ages will learn how ‘MCing’ (or Rapping) began as a technique used by radio DJs and grew into a world-wide phenomenon.
