The Medieval German church has several initial luminaries in its establishment. Famously, St. Boniface came to the Saxons in the early 8th century to aid in the conversion of the Saxons, followed shortly by Charlemagne and the various missionaries that would come with Imperial support. The medieval German church would develop in its own right in the 10th century and eventually develop some of the most significant minds of the medieval period in the Western Church.
