About this ebook series

Cyra Maejzur must choose: sacrifice her future or deliver her mate to his death.

Ready or not, Cyra Maejzur’s dream is granted when she unexpectedly inherits The Treasure, a spaceship unique for its live cargo facilities and energy-saving launch design. But her dream quickly morphs into a nightmare—the existing crew has abandoned ship and the cargo is escaping.

She can only handle one emergency at a time.

First order of space business—find a crew willing to work for free.

Next, deal with the uncontrollable shipment.

But when Cyra gets far too close to one of the deliverables, mixing business and pleasure makes for a toxic tonic, especially when he swears he’ll die without her.

If Cyra doesn’t deliver him to certain death, she’ll lose her partners, her ship, and her only chance for security. But how can she launch when it means leaving her fated mate—and her heart—behind?

Captain's Treasure Tropes

Spaceship romance, fated mates, alien lovers, space opera adventure

An Excerpt

Cyra Maejzur pressed herself against a tiny bare spot at the back of the docking bay. Captain Auvi barked orders to the team bringing on the new cargo. Four handlers kept control with stiff leads attached to his wrists, neck, and waist. The captain and Varik had argued bitterly before they’d set a course for this planet to accept the contract. It was the disagreement that had her sneaking into the bay. But the lack of drama disappointed. She’d expected a raging criminal or a feral beast. Granted, the male was tall and muscular, wore a shock collar, and was guarded like a deadly threat, but he didn’t make a fuss. He calmly walked on board The Treasure, his muscles relaxed and his face impassive.

Doc Maretine used a med-scanner on the…prisoner? Passenger? Cargo. The male’s bald head turned in her direction, and his dark yellow eyes narrowed, pinning her in place. His gaze left her exposed, and her gills fluttered as fear rushed through her veins. No, not fear—it was closer to anticipation, similar to the feeling she’d had when she’d run away all those years ago and boarded Captain Auvi’s ship for the first time. Anticipation of the unknown and recognition that the events might put her at risk. But the pull to this male was something else, something more dangerous than running away. Her heart sped, and her skin tingled. She warred between boldly stepping forward to confront the possible threat and wisely pressing deeper into the shadows.

The fact she shouldn’t be in the docking bay at all kept her in place. Captain would be pissed if she exposed herself after his warning about unsafe cargo. They already had a load of deadly spiders, and, supposedly, this male was just as big a threat. Doc finished his assessment and pronounced the male disease-free. The crew led him deeper into the ship to confine him to a cell in the cargo hold. Captain Auvi turned for the deck. Cyra held her breath.

Varik passed her and paused. “I see you. Should I tell Auvi his precious princess defied his order?”

Cyra bit her tongue. What could she say? Varik would tell or not. Either way, she had no defense.

His brief chuckle held no mirth. “You don’t fool me with this innocent good girl act. I know you for the siren you are, and soon, Auvi will see it too.”
