Amand Lucas

Amand Lucas was educated at the University of Liège, Belgium, and is Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of Namur, Belgium. He has worked in condensed matter physics and surface science, and has over 250 papers and six books. In 1985, he was elected Laureate of the Francqui Prize, the top scientific recognition in Belgium. He has created a DNA optical diffraction slide, internationally praised, for the teaching of the double helix structure. He is Fellow of the American Physical Society, a member of the Belgian Royal Academy, and a member of the Academia Europaea.
