Albert Mudry was born in the French speaking part ofSwitzerland in 1958. Initially attracted to the liberal arts, hechanged his affiliation to science and entered medical school(Lausanne) in 1978, qualifying as a physician in 1984. Hetrained at Lausanne, Lucerne and Würzburg before becomingan accredited specialist in otolaryngology and head and necksurgery in 1994. The following year, he embarked on the parallelstudy of the History of Otology, gaining a PhD (History) fromLausanne in 2007 for his work on Politzer. At the end of 2009,he became affiliated to Stanford University (United States of America) to promote anonline research project on the History of Otology. He is now their Adjunct Professorin the History of Otolaryngology. He has published more than 150 historical papersand seven books, including the current ‘Gold Standard’ work of reference on thehistory of ENT, Otorhinolaryngology, An Illustrated History.
