Alden Carter

Alden R. Carter's fiction is praised for its realistic depiction of young adult life. A former teacher, Carter was named to the Wisconsin Library Association's Notable Wisconsin Authors list in 2002; and his novels have received several awards and honors, including the Arthur Tofte Juvenile Fiction Book Award from the Council for Wisconsin Writers, the Heartland Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature, and an Outstanding Achievement in Children's Literature from the Wisconsin Library Association. They have also made several lists, including ALA Best Books for Young Adults, ALA Top 10 YA Fiction Books, ALA Quick Picks for Reluctant Readers, and American Bookseller Pick of the Lists. His previous Holiday House title, Crescent Moon, was named a New York Public Library Best Book for the Teen Age.
