Charlotte Delbo

Charlotte Delbo joined the Communist Youth movement in 1932, followed by the Resistance, but on March 2, 1942, Charlotte and her husband were arrested by the special brigades of the French police. She was transferred to Auschwitz-Birkenau along with 230 other women, most of them members of the Resistance. Only 49 returned.
