Clive Jones

Clive Jones is Professor of Regional Security (Middle East) in the School of Government and International Affairs at the University of Durham, UK. Previously, he was Professor of Middle East Studies and International Politics at the University of Leeds, UK. His published works include Britain and the Yemen Civil War 1962– 1965; Foreign Policy and the Limits of Covert Action (2004/2010); Soviet Jewish Aliyah 1989–92 (1996); (with Emma Murphy) Israel: Challenges to Democracy, Identity and the State (2002); (with Ami Pedahzur co-editor) The al-Aqsa Intifada: Between Terrorism and Civil War (2005); (with Sergio Catignani co-editor) Israel and the Hizb’allah: An Asymmetric Conflict in Comparative Perspective (2010). His latest book, Israel’s Clandestine Diplomacies will be published in the Spring of 2013. Professor Jones is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
