Daniel Ashlock

Daniel Ashlock is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Guelph. He has a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology, 1990, and holds degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Kansas, 1984. Dr. Ashlock has taught mathematics at levels from 7th grade through graduate school for over three decades starting at the age of 17. Over this time Dr. Ashlock has developed a number of ideas about how to help students overcome both fear and deficient preparation. This text, covering the mathematics portion of an integrated mathematics and physics course, has proven to be one of the more effective methods of helping students learn mathematics with physics serving as an ongoing anchor and example.
