Gabriel Souleyka is a historian by training, frustrated by the notable absence of stories about his native Africa. He embarked on an extensive cycle of research, seeking to understand why educational programs make no mention of the struggles for freedom. He discovered an impressive number of queens, kings, warriors, artists, poets and poetesses who had never been recounted. Specializing in questions of the slave genocide, he is equally dismayed by accounting contradictions, preconceived ideas about slavery, false data and truncated figures. He takes part in various conferences and debates with other historians, in search of the historical truth.
