Gareth M. Winrow

Dr. Gareth M. Winrow is an Associate Professor in the Department of International Relations at Istanbul Bilgi University and currently an elected member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs in the United Kingdom. Dr. Winrow has been the recipient of two NATO Research Fellowships to study Mediterranean security issues and a US Institute of Peace Fellowship. Dr. Winrow received a scholarship to study at Oxford University. He was also educated at Lancaster and Manchester Universities in the United Kingdom. His publications include, Turkey in Post-Soviet Central Asia (London: The Royal Institute of International Affairs, 1995), and, as co-author with Kemal Kirisci, The Kurdish Question and Turkey: An Example of a Trans-State Ethnic Conflict (Newbury Park: Frank Cass, 1997). He has also published articles on security issues and Turkish foreign policy in journals such as, IL Politico, Journal of South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, The Oxford International Review, European Security, Central Asian Survey, Mediterranean Politics and Jane’s Intelligence Review
