Hemendra Kumar Roy

Hemendra Kumar Roy (1888-1963) was a prolific writer, columnist and editor who wrote for both children and adults in Bengali. He has been credited with creating the genres of horror, speculative fiction and adventure for children in modern Bengali fiction. His characters, Bimal-Kumar and Jayanta-Manik appeared in numerous stories and continue to be wildly popular.
