Dr. Hazik Mohamed

Dr. Hazik Mohamed is a multi-skilled professional with a strong background in strategic advisory. He is an experienced Green Finance and SME Development Specialist with substantial and varied experience in conceptualization, project management, market penetration and operational leadership roles. He has over 25 years of work experience providing business consulting for MSMEs and MNCs on a variety of technical and business-related issues, where the UNCDF, national finance offices, and the ASEAN Secretariat were among his multi-developmental corporate clients. His current projects include decarbonization, ESG, and SDG consulting. His service as an external consultant for UNCDF helped to improve the access to finance through digital solutions for women-owned, managed or led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The Shaping Inclusive Finance Transformations (SHIFT) Innovation Fund sought to co-fund companies to pilot innovative digital and financial solutions that improve access to finance and/or enhance operational efficiency of women-led MSMEs. As part of the Due Diligence and Review teams, he was assigned to review business models, report capacity readiness, select innovative solutions, including identifying risks and potential growth for the Board.Dr. Hazik Mohamed is also the published author of Belief and Rule Compliance (Academic Press by Elsevier, 2018) on behavioral economics, Blockchain, Fintech and Islamic Finance (De|G Press by De Gruyter, 2019; Second Edition, 2022) and Beyond Fintech (by World Scientific, 2020). His wide research interests include financial inclusion, sustainable development, and new technology for disruptive socio-economic advancement.Dr. Hazik Mohamed possesses a Ph.D. in Islamic Finance (Behavioral Economics using Game Theory) from INCEIF, M.Sc. in Finance from Baruch College (New York) and B.Sc. in Engineering from University of Arkansas (Fayetteville).
