Jack Horner was born in Shelby, Montana, and discovered his first dinosaur fossil at age 8. He has been involved with some of the most important recent dinosaur discoveries, including a Maiasaura nest at Montana's Egg Mountain and Tyrannosaurus rex fossils that contain flexible blood vessels. Jack was the technical advisor for all the Jurassic Park movies, and the character of Alan Grant was based on him. He is the Curator of Paleontology at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana, teaches at Montana State University, and was named the Montana State paleontologist.
