John Emmeus Davis

John Emmeus Davis is a founding partner of Burlington Associates in Community Development, a national consulting cooperative. He was housing director in Burlington,Vermont under Mayors Bernie Sanders and Peter Clavelle. Community land trusts have been a prominent part of his professional practice and scholarly writing for nearly 40 years. His publications include Contested Ground (1991), The Affordable City (1994), The City-CLT Partnership (2008), The Community Land Trust Reader (2010), and Manuel d'antispéculation immobilière (2014), On Common Ground: International Perspectives on the Community Land Trust (2020). He co-produced the film, Arc of Justice, and is co-director of the Center for CLT Innovation. He holds an MS and PhD from Cornell University.
