Kazumi Tabata

Kazumi Tabata (1943--2020) was a Grandmaster in Shotokan and Shorinji karate and a key figure in spreading Japanese martial arts in the West. In the U.S. since the 1960s, he founded and led the North American Karate Federation and the New England Collegiate Karate Conference, hosted the first Boston-Asian Festival in 1993, and authored several influential books, including Secret Tactics, Mind Power, and Warrior Wisdom.
