Laurel Decher

LAUREL DECHER lives on the outskirts of a mid-sized city in Germany, between a medieval chapel on St. James' Way and a boundary marker tree complete with scary face. It's a little surprising, since she expected to live in Vermont for the rest of her life. You just never know when adventure will call! LOST WITH LEEKS is her second Seven Kingdoms Fairy Tale for young readers (ages 9-12). She writes stories about all things whimsical, vegetable, or musical. Beloved pets of the past--such as "Stretchy the Leech"--may or may not appear in those stories. She's famous for getting lost, but carries maps because people always ask her for directions. She can be found on Twitter and on her blog, This Is An Overseas Post, where she writes about life with her family in Germany. She's still a Vermonter and an epidemiologist at heart. PSA: Eat more kale! :) Her short story for adults, UNFORESEEN TIMES, originally appeared in the journal WINDHOVER.
